Volume refers to the number of shares traded in a stock or contracts traded in futures or options contracts.
A moving average of volume allows us to determine whether volume is increasing or decreasing.
It is possible to identify the volume trend by using a double moving average on the volume. The shorter moving average of volume is above the longer moving average if the volume is increasing, indicating that the trend is strong.
