Exchange and Group

Momentify investment strategies are applicable to NSE and BSE markets.

The group represents your momentum portfolio stock universe. Stocks within the selected group will be considered based on the momentum criteria you have defined.

There are two types of stock groups:

  1. Predefined
  2. Custom

Predefined Stock Groups

Predefined groups are stock groups defined by NSE Indices Limited, BSE, or the Definedge team. These groups are typically based on market capitalization rankings.

Examples of predefined groups include:

> Nifty 50: Top 50 companies

> Nifty 100: Top 100 companies

> Nifty 200: Top 200 companies

> Nifty Small Cap 250: 250 Small Cap companies

> Nifty Midcap 150: 150 Mid cap companies

> Nifty Small & Midcap 400: Nifty Small Cap 250 + Nifty Mid Cap 150

> Nifty 500: Nifty 100 + Nifty Small Cap 250 + Nifty Mid Cap 150

> Nifty Microcap 250: 250 Microcap stocks

> Nifty Total Market (Nifty 750): Nifty 100 + Nifty Small Cap 250 + Nifty Mid Cap 150 + Nifty Microcap 250

You can run your momentum portfolio on any of these stock groups.

When these indices are rebalanced by the exchanges, the groups are automatically updated in Momentify. If a stock is removed from the selected group and it is part of your portfolio, it will be exited on the next rebalance date.

You can create separate momentum portfolios for different indices or run a single momentum portfolio that includes a mix of large, mid, small, and micro-cap stocks.

Custom Stock Groups

You can create your own stock group in the RZone platform of Definedge. This allows you to curate a list of stocks that you are comfortable investing in and run a momentum portfolio based on that selection.

You need to manage and maintain the custom group of stocks. You can set the rebalancing frequency for the group based on your investment strategy and preferences. Once the group is created in RZone, it will be visible in the Momentify platform.
